A new culture of online recording artists is emerging. Welcome to mixculture.org!
Recording and mixing is an art and a science all unto itself. As an
independent "indie" musician I understand the hurdles faced by small bands starting out in the music world. Mixculture is
a place to meet and exchange ideas about
mixing and culture, the newly
mixed world culture and what it will be.
Whether you mix with the standard "two turntables and a microphone" and have a DAT or 4-Track machine in your basement or if you are in charge of a full-fledged professional music studio, you can be a member of the
"mix culture".
What benefits do members get?
1. Exposure and a presence on the web.
2. A professional image for your band
3. A place for fans,
musicians and DJs to connect & interact.
4. Discounts on
future mixculture.org services or product
5. Help with press kits, etc.
Copyright Concerns
I've had people express concerns about publishing copyrighted material on the net. I've even overheard people saying things like, "Aren't mp3 files illegal?" No. Mp3 is a recording format that is perfectly legal to use. It is illegal to make illegal copies of recordings that are not your own. If you want to publish something make sure
that you own the rights!
